I am struggling to get the motor going. So the maiden flight is on hold at the moment and secondly we are having a shutdown at the factory, so flight time is a bit on the limited side!

Hi hi Possible1,

Thanks for bringing the wing in the other day for a quick look, chat & mug of Rooibos tea...

How about some images of the progress... ;)

And the "maiden date"? :woohoo:

Hey Possible1,

How is the Tri 40 doing?

I think it is a great idea to rebuild the old lady.

Looking forward to the progress made and the imminent Maiden Flight after work has been completed.

We vividly remember the 1st Maiden Flight January 23, 2008 at GRF's RC Flying Field...

Have a great weekend...

I had a very nasty crash with my TRI-40 trainer.
Moral of the story is or was, never try and take-off and there is a very heavy crosswind. Tried to recover but didn't and ended up ditching the plane right in front of me just to the left of the runway at St. Blaize flying club at Mossel Bay.
The photos I have added, show the damage before and how the fuselage was repaired. Its amazing what balsa, plywood and some good old epoxy can do. The photos can be viewed under TR1-40 repair in my albums
